Meet Doctor Courtney Johnson.

Dr. Courtney Johnson is the founder of Oh!Mind, Inc., publisher of the Story Therapy and Story Meditation products.

Dr. Johnson has extensive education and experience in clinical psychology, psychological testing, and statistics with specific clinical training on the effects of trauma and the long-term impact of adverse childhood events.  She has worked as a counselor, teaching stress reduction techniques to war veterans, and was certified in clinical hypnotherapy by the American Institute of Hypnotherapy.

In addition to her clinical and academic background, Dr. Johnson also worked at the Research Triangle Institute researching the psychological and economic impact of the war on Vietnam veterans. In 2001, she joined Tickle Inc. (formerly Emode.com) as Director of Research, where she was responsible for creating the company’s popular online personality, career and relationship tests.

Through her own experience and research, Dr. Johnson is also a strong believer in the benefits of meditation. She began her meditation practice 15 years ago at the Japan House Zen Center in Urbana-Champaign, IL. Since then she has maintained a regular practice and has attended sittings in several locations across the country. In 2002, she trained as a student under Art Runningbear and Dana Duryea at the Foundation for Spiritual Development in San Rafael, California.

Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in psychology and nearly finished a second Ph.D. (ABD) in statistics at Duke. She also has an M.S. in applied measurement in psychology and a math undergraduate degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an expert in her field, she has been called upon to provide her opinion on topics such as relationships, online dating, personality testing, careers and more. Dr. Johnson has been quoted in national media, including USA Today, US News & World Report, the New York Times, and has appeared on several TV and radio programs across the nation. She has also been a speaker at national and local San Francisco Bay Area conferences. She currently lives in the SOMA district of San Francisco.
